The North Face
I had the privilege of being invited to document a two-day event for The North Face in the stunning landscape of the Ogwen Valley in Snowdonia. Along with approximately sixty other outdoor enthusiasts, I arrived at the mini-festival site and promptly turned off my phone as instructed, as the emphasis of the weekend was to disconnect from technology and fully immerse ourselves in nature and the company of others.
After pitching my tent, I joined a group hike that took us along the Heather Terrace, around the back of Tryfan, and back down to camp via Llyn Bochlwyd. The scenery was breathtaking, and we got treated some some really dramatic scenes in thick cloud. In the evening, we gathered for a series of talks and presentations, accompanied by some amazing street food and delicious local ale. It was truly refreshing to be away from distractions, to socialise, meet new people, appreciate the peace and serenity of the outdoors, and enjoy ourselves late into the night.
